NM Psychology believes in making quality mental health care accessible and affordable. We aim to provide transparent fees and a range of payment and funding options to support clients in accessing appropriate psychological care.
NM Psychology offers private and funded pathways for psychological services.
Fees and requirements vary depending on the service, funding arrangement and any additional consultation or reporting required.
Private appointments are available without a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan.
The fee for a standard 50-minute psychology appointment is $200. Private clients are responsible for the full session fee, although they may be eligible to claim a rebate through their private health insurer.
Clients should contact their private health insurer directly to confirm their eligibility, rebate amount and any applicable waiting periods or annual limits.
Clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for psychology appointments.
For a standard 50-minute psychology appointment:
Session fee: $200
Medicare rebate: approximately $101.55
Estimated out-of-pocket cost: approximately $98.45
Medicare rebate amounts are set by the Australian Government and may change over time. Eligibility and available Medicare-rebated sessions should be confirmed with the referring practitioner or Medicare.
Eligible clients may access Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual mental health treatment services per calendar year. Referrals are generally issued for a specified course of treatment and may require review by the referring practitioner before additional sessions can be accessed.
Bulk billing is available for eligible concession card holders with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. Eligibility will be confirmed before the appointment is booked.
NM Psychology provides psychology services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Psychology services are charged at the applicable NDIS psychology rate in accordance with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and the participant’s service agreement.
All services are billed according to the actual time required to deliver the agreed supports and complete related professional activities.
Psychological services may be available for approved WorkCover and TAC clients.
Fees and service requirements are determined by the relevant funding body and may include treatment, consultation, planning and reporting.
Written approval or confirmation of funding may be required before services begin.
Assessment fees vary depending on the assessment type, complexity, number of sessions and reporting requirements.
NDIS-funded services may also include clinically relevant work completed outside scheduled appointments, where agreed and related to the participant’s goals and supports. This may include communication with stakeholders, care team meetings, school consultation, case conferencing, resource development, document review, reports and support letters.
Unless otherwise specified, these activities are charged at the applicable NDIS psychology rate. The scope and expected cost of substantial additional work will be discussed before it is completed wherever possible.
Some private health insurance policies may provide rebates for psychology services.
Clients should contact their insurer directly to confirm eligibility, rebate amounts and claiming requirements.
Appointments are paid at the time of service, and receipts can be provided.
Psychology services generally cannot be claimed through both Medicare and private health insurance for the same appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may incur a cancellation fee.
